The standard “720” frame ratio is 1280x720. Not all movies fit into that. I have, for example, a movie that is 1726x720. If a user has their player set to stream movies at 720, is Plex actually looking for 1280? That is, does Plex first see the width, 1726, and say, “That’s bigger than 1280x720, so I’m transcoding it down to 1280x534.” Or does Plex read the 1726x720 movie as a “720” movie and direct stream it without transcoding it down?
