Will Plex play nice with other software like emby for live TV hdhomerun Prime boxes? Example if one tuners in use will Plex automatically try the next tuner?

Plex works great with Roku
Emby works great with Android TV

No. Plex keeps track of the tuners it is using but if one is already in use by another app it will mostly times out.

That’s what I was afraid of. Thank you for the reply.

If you have two primes, you can drop one from Plex while you evaluate Emby.

Yeah that’s what I was doing but emby doesn’t play nice with Roku unfortunately. And I only have 5 hdhomerun Primes and generally use about 12 channela at night.

Here is a partial answer. Yes, it does go to the next tuner on the hdhomerun quatro(4 tuners on it). Viewing via external Roku. It does lock a Tuner to the channel you’re watching and releases it fairly fast(30 seconds) when you switch channels or if all tuners are in use. A friend is having trouble getting hdhomerun working with the Plex for Android app that came on his Sony Bravia. I’m Roku on all 4 TVs, live tv can be on all 4 at same time(direct play). Over all, very impressed with the hdhomerun quatro and Plex integration. You have to remember it takes a tuner per function. Live tv channel 1 tuner, recording 1 tuner. Unless you are watching or recording the same channel on 2 tvs, then Plex will use the same tuner. You can run out of tuners when watching and recording, have to schedule
