Does Plex player for Linux have DBus/MPRIS playback control integration?

MPRIS (Media Player Remote Interfacing Specification) is a standard D-Bus interface which aims to provide a common programmatic API for controlling media players.

Does the Plex for Linux player support MPRIS? Virtually every other media player I use has support for this, which for example means that GNOME can show what I’m watching in a system-wide “now playing” interface, and that I can use the play/pause key on my keyboard to control media regardless of which application is playing it.

When using Chrome the Plex for Web client supports this, but I’ve been unable to get it working with the Plex for Linux desktop client. I assume it’s just not implemented, in which case it would be great if it could be - from my experience it’s very little work to integrate it into an application. I would have done it myself if the client was open-source.

Otherwise, is this in fact implemented and I’m just doing something wrong?

Thanks

It is not implemented. It’s been on the list for a while but with limited resources and with so few using the apps on Linux, it’s not been addressed yet.
