I’m afraid I’m too lazy to get onto the beta, but does anyone know if they’ve finally implemented the one feature I never fail to scream at my player for?
Show the ending time
Plex knows the length of the media, it knows the current time. So why force me to work out what time the thing will end?
If I understand you properly, the new app doesn’t show total time during playback. As with the current app, you click to see elapsed time and remaining time. The total time shows on the summary before playback as in the screenshot below. I’m talking about Android.
Sorry, I meant the playing screen (the one you get after hitting “Watch”), and specifically the overlay when the media starts (or when you tap on the screen in Android).
Although the current apps are inconsitent in their display of this, what I mean is that while the current Android app shows elasped time followed by a countdown like this:
--|------------------------|
3:10 -42:55
It would be more useful to see what time the media ends, for example like this:
--|------------------------|
3:10/45:55 8:45pm
Although there are obviously different ways it could be shown.
That way, if you know you need to do something at 9:00pm, then you know you have enough time to watch the movie (as long as you don’t pause it for too long) without having to work that out in your head.
Oh well. Another few years of having to work out whether I should unpause the movie I’m watching after taking a call from a friend, or whether if I started watching this episode of something now I’ll be getting to the end after I need to start cooking dinner.
