Is there a way to get the Dolby 5.1 sound to work on Windows 10 app? I get it with the HDhomerun app.
What’s the version number of the Plex app that you’re using on your Windows computer?
Version 1.6.5.1097-3bb9dc68
Upgraded to Version 1.8.0.1159-67c4a549, still no Dolby 5.1.
Are you watching on the Desktop?
There’s a funny little thing with (my) Windows 10 audio section wherein it’s enhanced features always wants to select the desktop speaker setting instead of the higher end setting (or the TV).
Open the Player App (not Plexweb, right?)
Right click the speaker thingy in the system tray
Open Sound Settings
Scroll all the way down to Advanced Sound Settings (app volume and advanced, bla, bla, bla)
In there, make sure the Plex Player app is using the most mojo you have and not the least.
Once you set that it’ll remember - at least it does here.
The other option is to use Plex Media Player - the Alpha Dog of the Player Apps - and utilize it’s built in enhanced features and settings available when in TV View - when set can be used in any view:
I hope some of that hits pay dirt for ya.
I installed the media player and noticed that the video is much smoother. Still, only stereo sound not 5.1 with it.
Did you enter TV View, go to settings and - do whatever it takes?
There are enhanced audio settings, but you only get to them from TV View.
If you get it working - you can switch views, but the settings must be made in TV View.
Thanks, I found it and it works perfect on 1 PC. My other PC is a different story, needs hardware update bad.
