Dolby vision green tint on Apple TV

Server Version#: 1.21.3.4046
Player Version#: 1.13

I’m unable to play Dolby Vision dvhe.05.06 in mp4 container without getting a green tint to the video on Plex on Atv4k connected to an LG OLED b7. The plex client shows “HDR” instead of “Dolby Vision” for the file type, but the TV displays “Dolby Vision” when the file starts playing.

My initial though was that something in my setup didn’t support the dolby vision profile level, however, the same file plays fine connected to the same plex server via the Infuse player.

Here is the mediainfo for the file.

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

Unfortunately no advice, but I’m having the exact same issue. Hope this gets fixed!

I have the same problem, you probably have to use Infuse or MrMC

Server Version#: 1.21.4.4079
Player Version#: 7.14

+1 but inconsistently. Many Dolby Vision videos play as expected, but some play play with skewed green or purple tints that change periodically. Others only play as HDR instead of Dolby Vision. The problematic videos play with similar issues on the iOS app. Using Infuse solves the problem. I haven’t had success with the old player.

I have discovered that using the Infuse player fixes this, at least on my Apple TV. Hope that Plex can add support soon so that I won’t have to use a third party app.

I’m experiencing the exact same behaviour.
Apple TV 4K, with Dolby Vision, on a LG CX, and on the Apple TV, it has a green or purple tint, and seems to switch between them every 5-10 seconds.

The TV detects it as Dolby Vision stream/input, so no issues there, just doesn’t seem to be playing the media’s colours correctly.

Playing directly from my inbuilt Plex app on my LG CX is perfect, but I do prefer the Apple TV variant.

I’m having the same issue, Dolby Vision content has green/purple tint.

Playing same file Infuse and everything works as it should. Screen shows DV content and picture quality and colors are flawless.

Any way to configure or get Plex player compatible with these Dolby Vision files like Infuse?

I’ve just got a 4K HDR Dolby Vision TV. Using Plex on my AppleTV 4K.

What video setting do you have set on the AppleTV? I have it set to 4K HDR, with Match Dynamic Range & Frame Rate to off as this makes the TV lose connection and then reconnect with matched settings and reverse when I’ve watched. I find that annoying.

If I set it to Dolby Vision, the AppleTV Home Screen and videos are washed out. The TV reports it as 8bit colour, HDR reports as 12bit. I have all new HDMI 2.0 cables which are recognised as Dolby Vision/HDR compatible.,

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

TV is Hisense 65AE7400FT

Gave up streaming anything other than SDR on Plex for ATV. Infuse is the way to go now. Can’t get Dolby Vision or Atmos EAC to decode correctly.

Here is an attached screenshot of the debug output of the new player.

@Devs, let me know if there’s any other information you need
