Is anyone having dolby vision issues with latest Android beta? My media with dolby vision is only being detected as HDR now. It was working fine until 8.12
There are so many variants of Dolby Vision with different profiles and different media containers.
I highly suggest you post the media info for a random file you are trying to play.
@dmueller18 - Have a read through this thread. Myself and others have run tests using the same example files and the Shield “mostly” plays most of the DV profiles, but not all…
I think this is what it is. I was messing around with some stuff last weekend and ended up ripping my copy of Lord of the Rings Return of the King again. The first time I was using makemkv 1.15.3, but last weekend I used 1.15.4. According to this thread that update made changes to the number of layers of DV. I think that must be what caused the issue. I will see if I can download the old version of makemkv and try playing the files again.

Having some problems too. Some .mkv files will go DV, some others no. But .m2ts won’t go DV at all. Trying a .mp4 tonight.
Well the odd thing is that the same file played DV on shield fine, but there was an update to the player and all the sudden, DV would no longer play.
Can I remux the mkv to mp4 and not lose the DV Metadata?
Didn’t succeed to play dual layer hdr Dolby Vision mp4 last night. Only plays in HDR10.
