Of course, using the shield as a server is a good thing but not for me and my setting. An update with cpu would cost me 250. A passive nvidia 1050 Ti costs 150. I have to figure out what’s best for plex. Any tips?

Why can’t you use the Shield as a server? I don’t feel like it’s using any overhead. It’s just streaming data from the NAS. Then again I suppose it depends on the number of concurrent streams.
