Currently I can not see if it is a Dolby Vision or HDR10 video.
It will be displayed the same. I would like to have another hint for Dolby Vision material.
Dolby Vision:
HDR10 Video:
My wish would be like this:
or
Edit: or 4K HEVC Main 10 DoVi
It would also be nice if in the player Dolby Vision is displayed as DV and not as HDR.
Thanks for the addition @TobyX
Certainly, I would support this request and would also kindly ask whether it would be also possible to see that DV is available within the new Exoplayer when a movie is playing?!
Currently (when you pause the movie) on the right side you see eg “4k HDR” … I would like to see e.g. “4k DV”
Maybe this place is not the best to request new features. There is a certain sub-forum for that. I could also open a topic there and link it to yours @KCX… or you can move it.
No, unfortunately not! I don’t see that DV is displayed/recognized anywhere. It is only recognized as HDR10 as @GroundhogDK said.
This feature seems to me very easy to be addressed, but noone of the developers is aware of this topic.
So we should keep this topic bumping and referring to it in other threads
Absolutely wish for this. And maybe the choice of which to play, such as a drop-down menu like choosing subtitles to decide if you want HDR, HDR10, HDR10+ or DV playback.
Yes please Plex team! This would be a great addition - alongside correctly identifying the audio track types also as per this feature request. Especially since Plex so awesomely plays Dolby Vision, Atmos etc on Shield now!
Completely agree with this. It would be both useful and add a great deal of polish to the app if DV and Atmos items had the little Dolby Vision / Atmos logos that are displayed in other media apps. Makes those features instantly recognisable and looks better than a string of text.
