Hi, I have created 5 of my own that contain DTS-HD or DTS:X but none with TrueHd / Atmos.
Do the single layer DTS-HD / DTS:X play correctly for you in this new Plex Beta?
I would have to say yes, although Plex have disabled refresh rate refresh for DV which is a big pain in the ass, with this in mind I gave gone back to playing DV directly on my LG oled.
It’s weird because even selecting an AC3 stereo track they won’t play
Server Version 1.18.2.2015
Beta kepler-arm64v8a-googlePlay-stdExo-7.24.0.13641-96ca12d1.apk
The LG test videos all work wonderfully with me. Unfortunately, all MP4s created with DVDFab are not or are recognized as HDR. If I look at the information, these are also Dual Layer MP4s. Do I have to edit this now after DVDFab?
Edit: Ok got it now realy
you can simply copy the video track, you just have to select single layer with current dvdfab.
Care to explain that last part?
use current dvdfab, MP4 Dolby Vision Profil, then on the key for the settings of the video. You can select this on the top right. As sound I try EAC3 5.1 … let’s see if it works… I report
You need to disable all optimizations and deselect all audio tracks.
No Web-Optimization? and then with an mp4 muxer add the soundtrack again?
Edit: Ah see your Link https://forum.mrmc.tv/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4171&start=310
Ok i try
My first Test with single layer eac3 with dvd fab works great

HD Sound I will also test it with the instructions from forum.mrmc.tv
SL DV MP4 with DTS works also fine. DVDFab konvert (Copy Option) a DTS HD Master 5.1 to DTS 5.1
The tests I’ve done work with lossy audio, but don’t work with either DTS-HD MA nor TrueHD.
Mhmm pity. Sounds not so good. I’ll test that too. AC3, EAC3, DTS is running. I will test AAC 7.1 yet.
The Plex Beta has one problem with DTS HD (High Res and Master), no matter if 4K or 1080p (MKV)
DTS HD works fine in .mkvs. At least if you have HDMI passthrought and your receiver supports it.
My receiver supports this. With 7.23 I do not have this problems. Sound laggs with 7.24.
And DD+ 7.1 still a problem or not possible with the Shield Plex app. In Kodi it works. (Plex Kodi Addon)
DTS-HD works fine in mp4 as per the guide on mrmmc.
Dolby vision will not work in a mkv.
Nice Info! Will test it soon
The logs won’t a sample that doesn’t playback smoothly would be great!
The beta submissions are processed every few days, so it might take a bit before you get the email. You can however install the APK directly if you are a Plex Pass holder.
This video seems to use an audio track that we (and FFmpeg) can’t identify. How did you create the file?
Dolby Vision and TrueHD Atmos / EAC3 Atmos / DTS:X / DTS:HD will work together inside of Plex v7.24 as long as you can direct play the audio and Dolby Vision and the video is an MP4 / MPEGTS. However that sample isn’t identifying as a TrueHD track, not entirely sure what the audio is.
I followed the process that you can see here: Dolby Vision - Page 32 - MrMC
ffmpeg.exe -i bluray:\path\to\bluray -map 0:2 -c:a copy -strict -2 audio.mp4
After extracting that audio, the .mp4 was merged with the Single Layer DV mp4 with mp4box
The conversion is supported by the latest version of ffmpeg, as you can see here:
Sounds very good ![]()
Offtopic: What about the problem in EAC3 7.1 (Atmos) in a MKV?
