Dolby Vision TS files fail to play on latest Plex Release [Nvidia Shield Pro]

Server Version#: 4.43.4
Player Version#: 8.8.1.21332 (07984587a)

After a recent update Dolby Vision files using the TS container no longer playback as Dolby Vision but only HDR, prior versions of the plex server playing Dolby Vision TS files worked flawlessly on the Shield Pro.

Plex seems to be picking up the Dolby Vision metadata fine with the new server version so I’m not sure why or how playback from the TS container got broken with the recent update. Maybe its something to do with the new support for Dolby Vision in MKV containers…

Here is the XML from one of the files.

Any idea on if there is going to be a fix for this?

If your video file ripped from bluray, profile 6 is incorrect, the latest version of tsmuxer has changed into profile 7.

profile 7 ts works well.

Using the latest version of tsmuxer still produces version 6 though, even when muxing from a MKV Created using MakeMKV the latest version still gives v6 and a ts file that does not work… I don’t think that’s the issue here since all these files worked flawlessly before the update.

It looks like the Plex clients for webOS, Sony Android TV and Apple TV work with Dolby Vision TS files. But not in TCL Roku (not sure in standalone Roku devices) or regular Android or the nVidia one…
I don’t understand the lack of this feature on the previous devices, as the TVs “embedded on/using them”, “have/can have” that capability.

Yea, it was working perfectly fine before the update. That said it is possible to remux existing stuff into MKV from the existing TS files or Re-RIP the discs to get chapters back (Which Ill probably end up doing) but GOD is it going to be a pain to rerip my entire library…

TS and MP4 files aren’t recognized as DV anymore in my shield. Just mkv works.
