Don’t receive emails, can’t reset / verify mail

currently trying to do the stuff from the security mail. It I can’t receive any Plex mails on my account. I’ve verified that the account can receive mails so it’s not that. Read about DKIM issues but double checked and it seems to be correctly set up on my side.

any ideas what’s going on?

I’m with you as I’m not receiving email to help with updating my 2FA since I had to replace my phone. Frustrating as I’ve been trying for days.

Upon deeper investigation I discovered that when triggering a “resend email activation”, the request responds with an error:

Changed my email address to one created to be used just for Plex, verification email never goes through so I created a ticket with billing which does go through. Hopefully they can clear the backup.

Rate limit means plex gas received too many requests from your ip address. You’ll have to wait at least a few hours before requesting again. If you use a VPN, turn that off and try again. The VPN address may be the one hitting the limit.

Resetting your password will not help with 2fa. Contact the billing department. You will need to verify your identity, then they can remove the 2fa from your account.

I was able to receive the recovery email within the window to disable and re-enable 2FA. Kept trying at different intervals and finally got one. Billing department was able to investigate a bit however I didn’t get their email until after I tried it again.

I invoked it now again. The endpoints returns 204, which is good.

BUT: I still do not receive emails to verify my account / address.

You don’t need to verify your account. I thought you were requesting a password reset.

To clarify, verifying my mail account was what I meant.

I am sending a request to verify my email address. I have access to my account but got the “we had a security breach and your account is f’ed. pls make a reset”.

But I cannot reset my password as I do not receive the email.

I ALSO do not receive a mail to verify my mail address.

Rate limit is 1 try likely because of all the mass mailings.

Before trying you should be sure to do a few things first.
Your email is verified with the email service, no anonymous.
Spam Filter or Allow List needs: “noreply@plex.tv” or “hello@mail.plex.tv” addresses
Send an email from another source to be sure no holds are present.

Open a ticket with https://www.plex.tv/contact/?option=billing-issues#p-contact and have your address removed from Plex’s block-list. When they respond you can retry.

My mail address is a custom domain, hosted via Apple iCloud. I do receive emails from many other services, I also received the “Action required: Notice of a potential security incident” mail on this account.

But that’s it from Plex site. Nothing more was received ever. I quadruple checked spam, there is nothing from Plex.

My first attempt was with Mailfence, they blocked with no notice, not even an entry in the spam folder. Plex immediately blocked this address.

Second was with Proton, who blocked it till I setup recovery with a phone number and established mail address.
