I’d like to turn on two factor authentication but realized I hadn’t verified my email through plex yet. Should be an easy fix, right? Well, whenever I click Send Verification Email under account settings Plex says they’ve sent the email, but I’ve triple checked and nothing is coming through. I’ve confirmed it’s not going to my junk mail or another subfolder. It seems that Plex just isn’t actually sending the verification email, so I’m currently stuck unable to verify my email address at all. Has anyone else run into this issue?
Server Version#: 1.23.2.4656
Player Version#: 1.33.0.2444-a220eae4
Our email processor does show that we’ve sent password reset emails and they’ve been acknowledged as “Delivered” by your mail server. If you’re not seeing the emails, please check your trash/spam/promotions/etc. folders to ensure that a reset email didn’t get mis-categorized.
@OttoKerner I’m having the same issue. It’s not when sending password reset emails, it’s when trying to verify our accounts. I can receive password reset emails, emails about new logins, etc. But when I follow the steps @Owly-Senpai outlines I also receive the same results of not getting the email verification email.
@OttoKerner - Hello, I too am not receiving the verification email. I tried clicking it a few times and refreshing my email. Checked spam/junk and it’s not there either. Can anyone help me?
I am an IT Guy and I am not getting my email verification, never have… I try to send it over and over again and it never comes though. No it is not in my spam, and yes I typed my address correctly. I have checked and no I am not going to call Microsoft and deal with some overseas support because Plex’s email servers are being blocked by them as spam even before it gets to my mailbox. Please find a solution so I can verify my @Outlook.com email. I am sure your service is being flagged by them and it is not something I can fix, Plex Corporate has to fight the fight because they will not listen to end users. Look into your DMARC, DKIM and SPF settings on your mail servers please.
They are being shown as being received and acknowledged as delivered by the outlook servers. Three of them with same status. Ones that are blocked show to us as being blocked.
I have the same issue mentioned above. I have tried several times to verify my email address but the email never arrives. I’ve checked my spam folder but nothing. I took the issue with my mail provider and asked them to check the two mentioned mail addresses above “noreply@plex.tv” or “hello@mail.plex.tv” but they said no email has arrived for me from Plex.
@enimaid emails to your account email were bounced back due to your email server saying there is no account with that email. Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table. You might need to check with whomever administrates your email server.
Your information helped out a lot. It appears that even though alias did exist for the mail I’ve asked something went wrong and mail was never delivered. New alias did the trick and old one is removed.
I have the same issue. I am trying to enable 2 factor authentication but says I need to verify my email address. I try and try and try and the email never comes.
There is a regular (almost daily) “temporary IP block” on your account.
Verify that you don’t use any old 3rd-party apps/scripts etc. which produce a high count of queries to plex.tv.
If you don’t know about any 3rd-party apps, maybe it is how you are using plex in general?
Are you attaching client devices to your account several times a day or befriend/unfriend other plex users very, very often?
How often are you logging into your plex account?
Maybe tell your web browser to not delete the cookies of the domain plex.tv each time it is closed.
I just got word that an email to your email address “bounced” back in September, so it was put onto the blacklist.
It has now been removed from there, but you better verify that the email address which is connected to your plex account is actually valid and reachable.
Thanks. I had the server resend the email and I received it this time. I was able to verify my account.
For your previous questions, I am not actively attaching devices or friending\unfirending people at all.
I log in once in a while, maybe a few times a week.
For my browser, I am using Safari and it is not deleting my cookies as far as I know. I am using Bitwarden which has an anti tracker. Would this cause an issue?
Yes, that is the kind of tool which would delete cookies from web browsers and do other things as well. You might want to create an excemption rule in the settings of this software for plex.tv.
