Premise: I have shows A-Z and am currently watching A and B. I setup the downloads for each show to ‘next 5 unplayed episodes’. These shows are not watched elsewhere.
Originally, show A was set to not delete episodes after watched and for a week or 2 nothing happened while I watched the episodes. When I set download to show B I set the delete episode after 1 day. At some point thereafter show A starts redownloading even though storage space was utilized. This repeats for 2-3 days and then I decide to scrub the downloads from the phone and resetup without the delete option and issue does not reproduce. Issue also doesn’t reproduce when options are ‘all episodes’ or really anything without dynamic filters that would get guessed by the download refresh.
I’m hoping there is some easy fix to this (“never use delete option when setting up downloads”) or an explanation why refresh would happen anyways (such as periodic refreshing of metadata).
edit: to devs, note that the release date on downloads always is an “unannounced release date” but plex says otherwise (both local IP and app.plex.tv) so this might also be triggering it unintentionally.
