I see that there was a previous thread about this a year ago but it was closed without being resolved.
Every sync, my iPad is re-downloading every file regardless of watched or new status. I’ve tried setting the download settings to various different things - all episodes, X latest and X unplayed as well as changing the delete downloaded setting to never, a day, a week and on next refresh. Nothing makes any difference. They download again on each sync.
What I’ve found is that this happens only for certain folders with video files that I have processed myself. The format of these files is MKV, VP9 video codec and stereo 48k Opus audio codec. The other files in my library do not have this problem. Server is a M1 Mac Mini. All software and OS are the latest versions.
Is there something I can do to stop this very undesirable behavior happening? It wastes a huge amount of time.
