Something I’d like to see Plex push for, since it started as Personal Media first, is the ability to permanently download the shows/movies we may “purchase,” not rent, on the Plex service.
I realize it unlikely that content providers will allow this, but given the term “purchase” connotes ownership, not “you’re actually renting it for as long as a content provider lets us keep it on our service” that the current ‘purchase’ option does, and since many of us obviously own our own media servers, this would be a nice option.
I realize there is only marginally slightly higher chance than 0 that providers will allow it, but worth a try.
