Hi, I’m trying to download a playlist via my Plex Android mobile phone app. I have given Plex full permissions to access my local storage and I have an active Plex subscription and logged in via that user (Admin). I keep getting the same error “some items could not be downloaded” on ALL items.

I paid for premium to get the features unlocked that was offered to me to serve my own content. Now it seems your abandoning that to chasing new features like streaming you’re own content or linking in with netflix and Amazon etc. It’s this kind of shiny object syndrome that makes companies lose direction on customers. I heard a lot of people already started using alternatives. It’s a download feature that isn’t working, surely that’s priority since someone broke it when updating.

Is this replacing the music side of Plex? So it’s my two stop shop solution, I’ve got all my albums in Artist->album folders so I use folder view otherwise Plex starts adding entire albums with only one song as there’s a couple of folders with a dump of mp3s or albums that have no matches on Plex. Folder view doesn’t exits on plexamp. It’s kind of a solution, but a really disjointed one that means my statement about shiny object syndrome was correct… Rather that fix a button we’ll create an entirely new app with half the features missing so we now have to maintain two apps and can upset our users twice over. Someone needs fired, morons.
PlexAmp has been around for roughly two years now and has been a side hustle by Elan. No, this isn’t suppose to replace music in the regular Plex app but it surely lessens the blow for some because Downloads in the regular Plex app has been broken for a while and had gotten worse when it malfunctioned even more in the past month, resulting in complete chaos for everyone who can’t get it to work.
There have been a few users on the forum besides yourself who have asked for more folder centric filtering and such on PlexAmp but that’s something you may have to inquiry with Elan about.
Thanks for the info, this is the first time I’ve heard of plexamp and the download button not working on Plex was something I’ve found out when trying to play music either stops completely which needs me to press play and skip a track (because it plays the same track again) or I have to close the app completely and try again. I thought download might be a workaround to that issue but it’s seemingly taking me further into more issues.

Anyway, at least I can enjoy my boxset for now but might look at alternatives as Plex is working really hard at being everything but the product I fell in love with 5 years ago(?)… Maybe longer
