I have a paid subscription but do not see any option to download media from the Plex Player. I have read several articles about this feature, and understand that it is available with Plex Pass. However it is not available in my system. Please advise. Thank you !!!

Not true, I don’t think.
The server “1” is not my personal server (Helsinki Is mine). There is no issue downloading the files from it.
the server admin has to allow it. by “your own” as in not plex web.
from plex web you cannot download.
eg here’s mine for shared users.
You might wanna check again. 
whoever shared it with you has to allow downloads.
I was totally in the blind then, I thought media could be downloaded to my Plex Server for the various offerings from within Plex itself, ie movies, TV, etc. Thanks for the great info. So I can only download my own media?! Kinda strange since I already have my own data. Oh Well… 
Plex is not a means to commit copyright infringement.
Plex has a remote access feature. And sometimes it might be useful to be able to download your own media file while being remote.
Totally understood. I wasn’t looking for a means to commit copyright infringement. It was just a misunderstanding on my part of how the system worked. Thank you for all your input !!
