Downloaded files constantly buffering

I bought a Plex Pass to download some TV files from a friend’s server as trying to watch them directly from his server was very laggy.

However, we’ve hit an issue in that one of the files is constantly buffering (we get more buffer than playback…) even though I’ve downloaded it. I’m going into the ‘Downloads’ section when I play to make sure that I’m accessing the local version not his server version.

My wifi is on full strength, so it’s not like there’s an issue with my connection to Plex. I’ve updated Plex and restarted my laptop, so there is very little else running in the background that is consuming processing power. The file is at 1080p, so not huge from a playback perspective

What is going on and how do I fix it? It is getting very frustrating!

Server Version#: Don’t know
Player Version#: Version 1.88.1.96-c1c59fc1
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

This requires player logs to diagnose further.

Aaaaand of course now that I go to get the player logs (reloading Plex and trying to reproduce the issue as per the instructions…), of course it all works fine…! :woman_facepalming:
Next time it happens, I’ll know to grab the player logs after the first restart…
Thank you for the support, and I’ve bookmarked the link for the player log instructions.
