Downloading subtitle issues

Server Version#: 1.41.1.9057
Player Version#:4.138.0

Updated Windows Plex Server yesterday, now we can no longer “download” the subtitle per the local media players - Both locally connected Roku or Plex Web Player fail. Multiple shows fail. I do have auto download turned on, waiting to see if those fail as well.

  • Roku displays the error “Something went wrong while trying to download the subtitle.”
  • Plex Web Player displays “Failed to download subtitle.”

I’ve not found anything blocked at firewall level.

Server logs seem to indicate the file was downloaded successfully. Any suggestions to try?

Clarify, this is when I select a different subtitle, Say one show keeps defaulting to French, so I pick English and then it fails.

My language settings are always and prefer English, not sure why this oneshow keeps getting French.

I am having the same issue. It appears to be a bug with this version.

Getting the “Failed to Download Subtitles” error on latest windows server/client too.

I am getting same problem, error when downloading subtitles. PLUS, SRT or MKV encoded subtitles are not displaying either. For me it appears to only be a problem on Roku. I have both a Windows Plex server and Synology NAS Plex server, playing from either server produces the issue.
I am unable to see any subtitles I already have either in MKV file or as SRT. One can select the SRT subtitle with no error, but they will not be displayed. And confirming, I can see the subtitles on the android phone/tablet client. Only a problem with Roku client and only since updating server to Server Version 1.41.4.9463

I am seeing same issue on Roku, does not display downloaded titles and unable to download new subtitles. I can view subtitles on Android clients as well. Server Version 1.41.4.9463 Both Windows and Synology DSM 7.2.2

Same problem here…

My subtitles have started downloading, just one problem, I can’t read French.. Every automatically downloaded subtitle is in French, manually i can get English. Server is set to English language and English preferred.

As for why they started downloading or now in French is unknown.

I do use Roku primarily.

These French subtitles are annoying.
