Downloads not deleting podcasts on schedule

I wanted to mention this bug here as well as in the topic announcing the Downloads feature in case it gets the report to a more appropriate team.

Ever since I’ve been using Downloads I’ve had the problem that it doesn’t delete podcast episodes as scheduled. I set mine to delete after one week, but the episodes are still hanging around after a month. Downloads keeps grabbing new episodes, but doesn’t delete old ones.

I’ve canceled the Download and recreated it, but that didn’t fix the problem. The problem has persisted over many versions of the app at this point.

I was curious about this as well, as “after a day” seems to be an arbitrary time. Would love to know how it’s supposed to work or if there is a schedule.

Personally, I wish for an option to delete the download after the episode is listened to.

I think I remember the Sync system having that option, and I hear Downloads has it for TV episodes.

Maybe the option is in there, but I just misunderstand the button labeling? It’s another how is it supposed to work question.
