Okay, I have a question I recently got this message that downloads are replacing sync, however when I look at my Web server the only option is to sync to my device. When I tried to do it from my device it says download but there’s no option to change the quality or anything like that. Also, it says I could delete it after a day or a week never over on the next refresh, but what does that mean? I like having TV shows that I’m trying to catch up on on my phone so if I’m ever stuck in traffic or needing something to do for five minutes I can catch up on my shows. But my phone only has so much memory. So being able to put a few episodes of a show in low or medium quality gave me enough space to have a good decent portion of stuff on my Plex. But now those options seem to be gone. Can someone tell me what’s going on or what I’m missing?
Hi,
Quality is now set once for all the downloads.
You will find quality settings in … Settings !
Is there a way to change that because obviously, not everything needs to be great quality?
If yes, I don’t know how.
Where are the settings you brought up?
The central setting applies to all future downloads – so if you prefer the best quality but want one file to be downloaded in a lower quality, you change the settings before downloading that file, then change the settings back. At least that’s what we got during the preview; not sure if there’s going to be a change in the future to get a per-download quality option.
Edit:
Settings > Downloads
And why are they removing the sync option? I like that system. It just seems like this one will be a massive downgrade from what we already have.
Check out those announcements where Plex explains what they’re aiming for and why sync is (at some point) going to die.
