Downloads reset to beginning of video when switching networks

When watching downloaded videos (TV Shows in my case) on the new Android mobile app, the video resets to the beginning whenever there is a WiFi or cellular network change. I have downloaded multiple videos and all of them do this. This does not make sense to me as the video playback should be from the local downloaded file - and should have no dependency on the network.

I can confirm I can reproduce the same behavior by turning on and off my Wifi while watching a downloaded video.

Has there been any progress in recognizing this bug and fixing it?

Also when switching between networks (wifi/cellular) while streaming the stream crashes and start over.

Same issue on iOS. On train journeys too.

it is a bummer plex downloads have so many issues.

How is this still not fixed!?!?!? There have been numerous posts about this problem both here and on Reddit and just one little acknowledgement. Staff has been mum since. We would like some answers. It’s a bug that completely breaks the function of the app. Posting yet again in hopes someone from plex gives an update (fingers crossed but not holding my breath).

I’ve been reading through the forum on topics surrounding “downloads” and they seem to have been dead quiet for some time on these.

Bumping this so it doesn’t close. I have the same issue even when roaming from one AP to another on the same network. Very frustrating.

Android.

Wifi to 5g and visa-versa. Even switching AP in home.

shouldn’t have to keep kiling the app to watch media
