Dragon Ball Z (dubbed)

I'm trying to import DBZ dubbed to Plex Library, but the problem is that there's a major difference in between the original japanese version and the dubbed version, mainly during the first two seasons, which have a total difference of 25 episodes. TVDB only has episode listing for the original version, and they're reluctant to have more than one entry for each series (see: http://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?t=16881).

So my question is, how should I deal with this situation? Is there any way I can easily add information for the episodes manually?

I'm thinking of leaving them in season order instead of absolute ordering, seeing that seasons 4-9 should be identical in both versions. However, I need to figure out what to do with seasons 1-3, since the english dub has episodes missing here and there, and some episodes have been combined.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Well, looks like there's an english dub with correct musics for the uncut version as well, so I'm settling for that.

To be honest, I don't know how to handle it other than what you are trying to do.  I have enough problems at time for the English shows (England) that have strange episode names depending on where the IMDB pulls it's info from...  :)

This whole topic should probably be put into the General Discussions, as it's more about shows and not about the hardware.  Someone else may have the same issue crop up, and might be better positioned to help.

Agreed, seems I was checking through the countless areas too swiftly, so I missed that one.

Solsku,

Are all of your episodes showing up?  I don't know if you are doing it as seasons or absolute (291 episodes numbered 1-291), but I just noticed that I am missing episode 264 in my library.  That episode is name "Search For Survivor's" and it is in season 9 episode 11 if you are going with seasons.  I am trying to get it to appear in my collection but am having difficulty with that, so wondering if you have it in yours?

Thanks,

I went with seasons, because it seems seasons 3 to 9 are identical in uncut and cut versions. Search for Survivors shows up normally in my library. I have named it as "[AHQ] DBZ - 011 - Search For Survivors" (no season mark in the file name, because I was lazy when altering the numbering :P).

Thanks for the response.  I'm not doing seasons so I'll need to mess around with it and try and get that episode to appear.  It's quite annoying since every other episode appears, but one.  Really weird, especially since my naming of the file is exactly the same as the other 290 episodes, minus the title of the episode being different.

Sorry for the thread revival but I’m having a similar issue. I too want to add my DBZ series to Plex and have the cut version (Episodes 1-67 were cut to 53 for the original english dub known as the Bluewater dub) which I am eager to stick with as I grew up watching this version with different voice actors and music.

Any advice on how I could add this? Whether it be manually adding them in seasons and naming them myself?

Thanks, Ben.

Has anyone figured out how to handle the dubbed version of DBZ? Thanks!
