I have plex running as a plugin/jail on my Truenas core (12 version). Have setup Plex live tv and works well, just can’t record. (Do have lifetime pass)
I’m trying to record to one of the 4 directories I created when setting up Plex a while back.
I set them up with the intention of giving any user access (that was on my home network).
However, I can’t record… getting that "no write access to destination? message.
I have read a few articles and reddit posts ect… and have tried a few things… but no luck as of yet.

I have pulled up the plex and it’s user ID on mine is like others 972.
I have created a user on my truenas as Plex with UID of 972.
I have added plex 's main directory as truenas users and added it to the truenas users group.
I have made plex the owner of the folder where I want to place the recordings. Originally I was the owner. when doing this, plex is showing as having w,r,x.
I have run a chmod command to change the perms by trying 755, 766, and 777.
No dice.
Any advice on what I might be missing here?

Are you using ACLs? If so, they will take precedence over the traditional perms. It’s been awhile for me on FreeNAS/TrueNAS, but I believe you need to set them to be inherited if you do implement ACLs. There are users on these forums who use TrueNAS as their primary systems; hopefully they can correct or expand upon the above.
