Drop-down menus disappear after clicking

Player Version#: Version 1.59.1.3398-dab42972 (Plex for Mac)

the drop-down boxes are not staying open, they flicker onto the screen for maybe 1/4 second and then disappear. I am unable to change any settings ie. subtitle position.
