Do NOT install DSM 7.1.1 Update 7
We have received reports of Update 7 breaking Plex (possibly Package Center itself).
Please do not install Update 7 until we’ve had opportunity to investigate

Server Version#: Version 4.140.0

I upgraded from DSM 6.2.2 to DSM 7.1.1 on my DS918+. I had to select my libraries again and noticed my play history was gone. I searched and started following along this comment on Reddit: Reddit - Dive into anything
They mention I need to uninstall Plex but when I try to, it’s all empty and the dropdowns to uninstall or any function don’t work. I have screenshots here. I tried restarting the NAS but it still isn’t working

ALL:
We have retested on a fresh installation of DSM 7.1.1 Update 7 (the base)
Older version, PMS 1.40.4, was downloaded from Synology Package Center and installed.
The same problem is observed.
This is unfortunately confirmed as DSM 7 problem.
We will craft some Task Scheduler scripting to help you in the interrim.
Those scripts will be posted here.
ALL:
I’m in contact with Synology regarding this issue.
A ticket is open.
They have acknowledged the problem.
We are expecting DSM 7.1.1 Update 8 to remedy this.
Given Synology’s promptness confirming the issue, I prompt/quick fix seems likely.

Anymore word on this? My NAS auto updated to update 7 and broke everything a week ago. I’d like to move plex over to a docker container but I can’t “stop” the package on the gas. Package Center is broke and doesn’t allow me to do anything. When I SSH into the NAS and try to “sudo systemctl stop plexmediaserver” it just returns “Failed to stop plexmediaserver.service: Unit plexmediaserver.service not loaded.” Any idea how I can stop plex?
$ sudo synopkg stop PlexMediaServer
$ sudo synopkg start PlexMediaServer

Thanks to the prompt work of the SynoCommunity, who beat me to the punch,
Synology has recreated and acknowledged the problem.
They have committed to releasing a correction for this in DSM 7.1.1 Update 8.
They did not give a date on ETA but let’s hope it’s soon.

I am currently fighting this issue with 7.1.1 Update 7. I believe that I have gotten Plex to stop and uninstalled it using SSH and the sudo login. Plan is to run the patches to get to 7.2.2 Update 3 and hopefully be successful with the Plex install. I just acquired this NAS, and will be coming from running my Plex Server on a Windows machine. Please let me know if you see any landmines along my path.

7.2.2 Update 3
Be sure to install the 7.2.2 specific version of Plex Media Server.

Just letting people know that it appears as though Synology has fixed the issue with Update 8 which is now available for my Synology NAS.
I also had the issue of the Package Centre being broken after upgrading to Update 7 initially then came across this post.
I had to install Update 8 “manually” and the problem is fixed for me.
Thanks to those that reported the issue to Synology and those that posted on this forum.
