Plex server all of a sudden stopped working. Ports 32400 are open on both the DSM and router. DNS fwd’d to 8.8.8.8.
When I open Plex from the Package Center, the browser opens up and states:
** This site can’t be reached**
Attached is the logs.
I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. At one point i was able to connect via the DSM, but when i selected Secure Connections ‘always’…that is when i lost the ability to even login from DSM. Logs.zip (401.3 KB)
Do not fallback to 1.29.2.6364, the version in Package Center. Due to database changes it is not possible to fallback from a 1.40 release to a release earlier than 1.32.1.
Instead of opening via Package Center, try connecting directly to the IP address of the NAS: https://192.168.2.39:32400/web.
Use https, not http. The browser may throw a security warning, which you can ignore (you’re connecting to your own server). You may also see a “The application is at 192.168.2.39…” message. That is your server. OK to go ahead and sign in.
If you can login, then see if you can reach the Plex server settings.
However, when i get to app.plex.tv the server is unreachable.
When i goto the local login, the remote access shows ‘Not Available outside your network’. I have the port manually set to 32400 and hit retry. It gives me a green text ‘Fully accessible outside your network’ …but quickly reverts back to not available.
The previous log files showed Plex Media Server registering a public IP address with plex.tv. Unsure why you cannot access via app.plex.tv. Once that is working, we can look at remote access.
Check the list of Authorized Devices. Delete any old server entries. Do not delete your current server, as that will unclaim it.
Temporarily disable the Synology firewall.
Control Panel → Security → Firewall tab.
In DSM, sync the NAS with a public NTP server, to ensure the date/time is correct.
Control Panel → Time.
Restart PMS (to bounce log files and log startup sequence).
Stop Plex Media Server.
Wait 1 minute.
Start Plex Media Server.
Wait 3 minutes for Plex to fully start and log the startup sequence.
Try to access via app.plex.tv
If unsuccessful, pull log files (Settings → Troubleshooting) and upload to the thread.
