Per the FAQ by Ian at the top of the forum DTS should be converted to AC3
Does the application support DTS?
No. At present, there is no support for 3rd party applications to play DTS. However, Plex Media Server will transcode DTS audio into AC3 in order to preserve the surround sound audio channels. We're working with Microsoft to bring DTS playback support in the future.
However when looking at my logs it in fact gets converted to AAC

Is this an acknowledged bug that is going to be fixed?
I've actually managed to get it to transcode DTS to AC3 rather than AAC myself.
I copied the Xbox One settings profile, pasted it under Plex Media Server/Profiles then removed the references to AAC from under the variable. Was pretty easy and now my logs show my DTS files as playing at AC3.
You are correct, we have found that DTS is being transcoded to AAC instead of AC3. We have already tested a fix and it will be available when the next version of Plex Media Server is updated. The Xbox One application wont need to be upgraded, only the server.
Just wanted to clarify, current set-up for movies is a WDTV live which streams off my NAS and outputs DTS/DTS-MA which pretty much all my files are in.
Will Plex not output these formats?
If not how much degradation is there in the transposition to AC3 / AAC?
That’s a bit of a dealbrealer for me, high-def audio is as important as video quality. Seems bizarre that an app 3rd party or not can’t output audio formats?
