My SPDIF output on my TV only supports AC3 passthrough. Many of my MKV movies only have DTS audio. When I play back on Rasplex I get no sound no matter how I set up the sound in Rasplex. My PMS is on a synology NAS. Is it somehow possible to get PMS or Rasplex to convert DTS to AC3?
If you can’t output DTS why did you encode them with DTS audio and not AC3?
Have you tried disabling DTS passthrough?
Regards
I had a different combination before without plex. Here DTS was possible.
Do you mean disabling DTS passthroug in rasplex or…?
Yes, disable DTS passthrough in Rasplex. Have you read the Audio Guide here https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/181255/rasplex-guide-to-audio-settings
Regards
No but will do now
I have tried to adjust the settings according the guide (tried almost any combination) but no change. I max get 2.0 pcm on my amplifier with DTS audio.
I cannot see the setting " DTS passthrough" anywhere in the settings.
Suggest you edit your post and remove your personal details.

Done… Thanks
These are my settings
What does
tvservice -a
return?
Regards
I have not tried that yet… I will be back
PCM supported: Max channels: 2, Max samplerate: 96kHz, Max samplesize 24 b its.
AC3 supported: Max channels: 6, Max samplerate: 48kHz, Max rate 640 kb/s.
This is what returns with SSH
So you need to check Dolby Digital capable receiver (which you have), all others unchecked and Channels set to 2.0. DTS will output as LPCM 2.0 only as your setup does not support DTS.
Regardd
so PMS will not convert DTS to AC3 and I am only able to get LPCM 2.0?
Correct, sorry.
