Rasplex transcoding problems

Hi All,

I know this has been talked a lot in this forum but somehow I could not find a solution fitting to me.
My setup:
Synolgy mit PMS 1.9.1.4272
Samsung ES6300
Raspberry Pi3 with Rasplex 1.8.0.148-573b6d73 (mpg2 and wvc1 enabled)
Sonos Playbase
Ligawo 6518758 HDMI switch set to 5.1

DTS is not supported my Sonos so I am trying to recode some of my audio stream.

RasPlex:~ # tvservice -a

     DSD supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max rate 2040 kb/s.
    EAC3 supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max rate 2040 kb/s.
  DTS_HD supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max rate 2040 kb/s.
     MLP supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max rate 2040 kb/s.
     DST supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max rate 2040 kb/s.
  WMAPRO supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max rate 2040 kb/s.
Extended supported: Max channels: 8, Max samplerate: 192kHz, Max rate 2040 kb/s.

I guess the DTS stuff is due to the HDMi switch, my Playbar should not be able to support this.

What i have tested so far:
Rasplex settings:

  • audio channels: 5.1
  • passthrou: only AC3 ticked
  • force transcoding: disabled

This plays the movie but only Stereo is reaching the Playbar

Rasplex settings:

  • audio channels: 5.1
  • passthrou: only AC3 ticked
  • force transcoding: enabled

Rasplex says “settings require transcoding”… takes a short time starts the movie but only 1 sec with DD5.1 then buffers or so and plays one second and buffers again after some time the stops automatically.

What am I doing wrong? Can I offload the transcoding to the PMS. Which xml profile do I need to adjust and how?
