DTS support on Xbox one - status?

Hi,

I see that when I play a DTS movie with 7.1 channels on Xbox Plex player, it downscales to 5.1 and no DTS available.
I have read on this forum that Microsoft did not allow 3rd part apps to use DTS decoder and that’s why DTS is not available with Xbox Plex player.

I just wonder if the situation has changed in years or not. Do we stil have that barrier even if Xbox will just passthrough the audio stream to the HDMI connected receiver ?

Third party apps to my knowledge still do not have access to passthrough. Until Microsoft allows this, their hands are tied.

DTS-X support is coming, but who knows if it will be passthrough. Plex can’t even get dolby atmos to work which IS supported so keep breathing.
