Hi
I have a Hauppage USB DualHD TV stick. Works perfectly on my Windows 7 PC and is a supported device by plex media server
Problem is that my Plex pass and Plex server are on a Mac.
Doesnt seem to be any way to make the hauppage work on a mac.
Was wondering if anyone had made Plex Media server on a mac somehow detect the TV pictures from a supported TV device over a windows device over a network.
Not able to do testing as dont want to have to buy a second plex pass for a windows device to test it out and would prefer not to have to run my whole media server on a windows pc
Alternatively anyone know of supported USB DTV device that works with Plex Media server and on a mac (perhaps even unofficially)
Thanks
You don’t have to buy a separate Plex Pass to install a Plex Media Server on your Windows computer. I have Plex Media Server installed and working with tuners on my Windows 10 Desktop, Windows 10 Laptop, and a MacBook Pro. You can muliple Plex Servers under your single Plex Pass account.

So you can setup Plex Media Server on your Windows computer and use the tuner you have working on that computer.
Hi John
Many thanks for the reply
I have tried to set up and have gotten as far as having 2 servers claimed to my account that has the plex pass.
Remotely I can see both servers, the windows one seems to say I have an indirect connection but seems to work. I suspect it is something to do with not being able to port forward in my router. Have given the mac and windows servers different public port addresses but as the private port number is fixed at 32400 on both servers my router complains when I try to save the config. Its happy enough to have forwarding to different devices for the different public ports but chokes I think as 2 different devices are being forwarded to the same internal port of 32400
Any thanks once again for your reply explaining what to do
Best regards
