I am currently using a Windows 10, 32GB, Ryzen 7 1700x 8-Core, GeForce GTX 1050i 4GB computer to act as my server. As I continue to rip lossless 4K to my collection some the workload of the PC has increased significantly when remote users are watching transcoded content which is set to limit uploads to 8mbps 1080p. With Hardware Acceleration set in the server setting the load tends to balance but due to NVida’s 2 stream limit I still get some users buffering. The question is if I add an additional, identical, video card would the hardware transcoding double in capacity with the second card added and would it be worth it? Never had an issues with only 1080p content with up to 8 users.
