Dune player

Yes,
With this I'm able to download 3 or more images simultanely, today images download is sequential and consumes time from script execution (connectining message).

With this first opening for one section ( before image cache) problaby will open more fast ( need more tests ).

Sounds very promising :)

newloran2, have you had a chance to look at an option to have unwatched filter as default?

ktd,

In the new version i'm working all filters can be used as default.

Lovely! Thanks for all your hard work.

No updates for two weeks

The next release must be something special, can’t wait!!

After three weaks out of my house, finally I'm back :).
Wait a little more, new things are coming :).

newloran2, is emplexer marking media as watched or is that handled by PMS?

The reason for me asking this is because often my Tv episodes doesn’t get marked as watched. I often stop the episode just when the credits starts rolling and this is never a problem when using any Plex client (PHTon Mac and Win, iOS, ATV2).

ktd,

Mark as watched is handled by client, basicaly the client need to do a request to pms when the video stop.
The emplexer does this automatically when lack 1 minute to finish the video.
But you're right in the case of movies for example, 1 minute is too little, I'll make a correction.

Great! Thanks a lot.

.@ newloran2

Highlighted in the first post on GitHub ,emplexer currently disables the ability to turn on PAL speed correction.

Can you please re-open the bug.

.

20mxm1,

I don't know why, but vod playback disable some things, like subtitle setting and some shortcuts and change position of others (like time seek).
This is not done by the plugin and is not currently possible to change these functions to default with vod playback.

But in the case of opened issue, the feature is present (accessed via popup menu) just can not be used via remote control shortcut.

Some of this issues related with shortcuts and funcionalities disabled or missing diring playback with emplexer, are only resolved if hdi change this in firmware.

I'm always looking for ways to circumvent these problems, emplexer uses many workarounds to resolve several bugs and limitations of the dune system plugins, but unfortunately some things are not possible to solve :(.

Ok, Thanks :)

Hi guys

I currently have an external hard drive connected to my IMac 27"late 2012. Works great with emplexer. Now I’m thinking of buying a synology NAS DS212j. Anyone have a synology setup using emplexer. And are there any performance advantages using a NAS setup?

Thanks

I have one Synology 712+ and it work very well for non transcoded sessions, to use transcode (iPad, iPhone) a powerfull hardwer is needed.

Thanks for the quick reply!! :)

A few question:

1)Do you think it's worth buying a NAS, are there any performance increase over my current normal external drive
2) playing iso blu-ray works ok but can stutter sometimes, do you think a NAS setup would work better
3) My iMac specs: 3.4GHz,32GB Ram,GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB memory, is this powerful enough

Thanks

Just a little, particularly I don't think this performance increase justify a NAS.

2) playing iso blu-ray works ok but can stutter sometimes, do you think a NAS setup would work better

If you transfer over wifi to wifi the performance probably is not sufficient to play large files
But if you put your iMac on a giga LAN certainly your transfers problems are done.

3) My iMac specs: 3.4GHz,32GB Ram,GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB memory, is this powerful enough

This question is serious :)?

Thanks

Hi newloran2
Regarding the last question, The reason I asked is because I don't know much about NAS.
Thank you very much for your help.

Sorry 20mxm1, I did not mean to seem ignorant in my answer, what I meant is that your hardwarer is much better than most NAS available today.
As a rule may consider that no current NAS is equivalende in terms of processing with a computer from the same era, the great advantage of NAS (Synology especially) is softwarer management and network performance.
