Thanks, newloran2. I followed your suggestions, and I even re-installed emplexer and restarted the Plex Media Server. Unfortunately, the problem remains even though I switched to smb connection -- when I select a movie with emplexer, I get the same "format not supported" error.

Is anyone besides me trying to use emplexer to play video files from an internal disk drive within the Dune?  I have the Plex Media Server running on a MacBook Pro, and my movies are on a drive installed in a Dune HD Base 3D.  The emplexer client is able to gather and display the movie metadata from Plex, but none of those movies will actually play on the Dune -- I get a "format not supported" error.  The same movies play properly if I use the normal Dune interface, and they will also play via emplexer If I move the video files to the MacBook Pro.  But emplexer fails to play these files if they are on the Dune's internal drive.

I feel like I have not properly specified the path between these two machines, but I've tried many different variations in the emplexer NFS preferences.

I have tried reinstalling emplexer, restarting Plex, and rebooting all the hardware.  I'm using the latest beta firmware for the Dune.

For those who want to use the internal hd or even a usb drive plugged into the dune as a data source for PMS and use this combination with emplexer, just set the connection type to nfs or smb and replace the url (smb / nfs) to /tmp/mnt/storage/[Name of storage].
 
ex:
 
My animes area  points to something like this (on mac) /Volumes/New_Volume_2e00f32100f2ef29, this is a remote access to the dune via smb.
On emplexer to use these same files that are on my local disk (or in a usb attached to Dune) should I change url
smb://user:password@192.168.1.x/Volumes/New_Volume_2e00f32100f2ef29 to / tmp/mnt/storage/New_Volume_2e00f32100f2ef29.
 
with this emplexer will be use remote data from plex and access files locally that are in internal dune disk.

Could you resume the situation with subtitles ? I’m not sure that I have understood everything

Is there a way to make internal and external subtitles work in mkv and switching them enabled ?

Could you use the same mode that you use with iso ? For me, subtitles are more important than resume time.

Would it be possible to have a light mode, that show cover, descriptions, and play any movie in player mode ?

About subtitles:

All subtitles that dune support emplexer support to, unfortunately because a bug (i think) on Vod Playback (mode that emplexer use), subtitle actions like configure/change  are not enabled.

Is possible to see all videos with subtitles (internal/external) but to do that are need to activate subtitles by default in  Setup->Playback->Subtitles->Enable subtitles by default for file, to use external subtitles you need to use emplexer over smb or nfs. 

I try to do a workaround to provide a configurable way to use default playback (default dune mode, without description, but with all fetures that dune support), i don't use this mode as default because on this mode i don't able to comunicate with PMS during playback to tel to PMS video position.

I think the ability to resume (from plex) and report the position to the plex (to continue for another device) the most important feature of emplexer, without it I do not think that it is more worthwhile to use the dune pattern without plugins.

Thanks for your very quickly answer. I’m testing as you said. If the subtitle chosen is the good one, I think I can deal with it !

For me the most important feature is the capability of Plex of maintening is DB on his own. That justify for me the choice of emplexer.

Unfortunately is not possible to do any change on info screen and on playback screen.

Global onDeck and recently added is possible and planed to 0.2 :).

to use nfs / smb with emplexer you must enable this feature in your repository, enable whichever is easier, both work very well.
 
After that you need to go to setup -> applications -> emplexer -> ConnectionType and change from http to nfs / smb.
On screen nfs / smb advanced configuration set the path to your entries.
 
How to configure here usually vary from case to case, the default for nfs usually works.
To smb you must configure for each input the username and password and sometimes the way.
 
For nfs path is something like nfs://host[:/export-path]:/path.
To smb is smb://[user[]@]host/share/path.
Ex: a smb share with user named newloran2  and password test123 and share name Series on ip 192.168.2.4 would look like this:
smb://newloran2:test123@192.168.2.4/Series.
 
If you can not set up, let me know and i help you better.
 
PS: once you get set up emplexer for nfs / smb not want to go back to http (all plays much faster).

The new filter scheme planned for the 0.2 give the possibility to use any of the filters as default.

With repository i meant to say your file repository which may be the same place where PMS is or not.

Although this is something very simple is unfortunately not possible to make any changes in the elements of playback/info (or even decrease the font).

In fact the possibilities are limited to what you can do with dune_folder.txt and not more.

PS: I'll analyze your suggestion and see if it is possible to implement.

Currently i have no way to simulate this behavior, but if i find a way i will implement.

Any help of any kind is always welcome, but in the current version there are few strings to be translated, but in the upcoming version 0.2 I think I'll need help for translations.

newloran2, let me explain the problem. Some iso or bluray folder start automatically with wrong track (for exemple with director interview) and i haven't possibility to set correct track.

No, this version are for the current version (but will be work on new firmware to).

I will start the version for new firmware when/if hdi release this to current models whith the news features.
