Recently almost all of my movies now show up two or even more times. Not sure if an update caused this. I have had the whole library refresh all metadata but that didn’t seem to work. When I click on the “…” menu for given movies. One of them will show the full menu option including get info, sync, delete, stuff like that. When I click on the other display of the same movie it only shows “shuffle, play next, add to queue, add to playlist, sync, delete”.
Not sure whats going on. At times I think it might be showing the “title” in the tags of the movie as well as the file name and therefore shows two since those are not identical. But that does not seem to be the case in all situations.

There should be 2 types:
The very latest Plex beta release introduced „inline collections“ in combination with the online version of Plex Web (not yet available if you access Plex Web on your Server)
Check out the Plex Blog for details. There’s also a nice post in the tips & tricks forum which e.g. explains how to get rid of automatically downloaded collection information from The Movie Database or how to deal with „empty“ collections

Just to add what @trumpy81 said…
By chance are the duplicate movies that you are seeing, maybe part of a collection set? Do you have the collections feature turned on in Movies?
Thank you to everyone that responded. The problem did turn out to be the new collections feature.
