Duplicated subtitles

Hi everyone,

I hope you are well and safe.

Does anybody have an idea why my SRT subtitles are almost systematically duplicated in my library dedicated to French language movies?

I suppose that the SRT External subtitles come from my OpenSubtitles.org agent – and they work perfectly well.

The SRT subtitles are embedded in my movie files, right? So why are they displayed twice (– and this is the same for almost every movie is this library)? Moreover, only one of the two really shows subtitles, the other has no effect.

Okay, I just figured something out. The duplicated subtitles are, in fact, the forced subtitles. One SRT for the ‘normal’ subtitles; the other for the forced ones.

The only thing that still bothers me is that they are named the same way (how to distinguish them at a glance?). But I think that Plex can’t do anything since the ‘problem’ comes from my files. Correct me if I’m wrong.

There is a feature request for this very thing… Add your vote if you can.

Show names for audio tracks and subtitles

Currently if you have a movie with multiple audio tracks or multiple subtitles that are the same language there’s no way to differentiate between them, as Plex doesn’t display the embedded information, just the language. For example for a movie you might have the standard audio track, a commentary track, and an alternate commentary track. Currently you would just see 3 audio tracks with no way to tell which is which without playing the movie and switching between them until you find the one y…
