Well I’m attempting to refresh all metadata as I found a support article that said this should be done after an agent changes which is what the upgrade did from my understanding.
However, this is the only thing I can think of that changed.
did you actually do the upgrade or just change the agent? sorry I feel like I am missing something you are trying to describe.
Then you upgrade it updates all existing GUIDs for existing items to be ones used for the new agent. if a new movie is added and it is the same as another it will get the same GUID when matched.
Yea I did the upgrade, which changed the agent and scanner.
My setup is that I have two NAS devices that are both added to the movie library.
Prior to the server update and library upgrade it used to pick up duplicate movies in these two NAS locations and show them in the search filter with ‘duplicates’ and also used to show the play version option.
Now it just has them as separate movies with two icons.
So if I search for say “Skyfall” it would show two icons as two separate movies even though they are named exactly the same.
This used to work fine prior to the server update and library upgrade.
I though that movies scanned under the old scanner/agent might not match as duplicates with items under the new scanner, but if you say the refresh metadata won’t work I don’t know how to fix it.
Follow-up: The refresh metadata just completed and now shows duplicates and play version functionality. I know you said this isn’t the cause, but its the only thing I’ve recently done that brought it back.
