DVD Order Agent

So I downloaded the last version and copied the .bundle file in C:/Program Files(x86)/Plex/Plex Media Server/Ressources/Plug-ins

I don't see any new agents even after rebooting the server.

thats the wrong Plex Media Server folder, put it in the one in the your user appdata folder

appdata is hidden but put this in the start search box and it should open

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\

Is it just me, or do some shows lose the theme music when this plugin is used? I'm using it on Firefly, Futurama, and Star Trek (Original Series). Futurama and Star Trek still have the theme music, but Firefly lost it. Yet if I switch Firefly back to the aired order, the music comes back.

I'm using this version of the plugin: (most recent as far as I know)

OSX2000 -

Untested - as I don't use theme music;

When looking at agents in server settings, if I select

Server - Agents - TV Shows - TheTVDBdvdorder - my 'theme music" agent is disabled (where as my standard "TheTVDB" selection _does_ have music enabled)

Try placing a check box in the "Plex Theme Music" box under "TheTVDBdvdorder" agent in you rserver - agents - TV Shows selection.

I have theme music for my flirefly

this is the most recent one https://forums.plex.tv/topic/21141-dvd-order-agent/?p=652345

So I just got my first set of Ren & Stimpy DVDs. It has a different listing than listed on TVDB, so I follow instructions here and downloaded and placed the new agent. I completely removed the folder with the episodes, so it didn't even show up in PLEX any more. I then placed it back. When I refreshed it shows up at the TV listing again so I do a fix incorrect match and tell it to search using the TVDBdvdorder agent and it only comes up with one result, the same one it comes up with just plain The TVDVB. I still select it but it doesn't match up with the DVD order. Any thoughts from any one?

Also, before I did some research on this topic I decided I would manually edit the information for the episodes with in PLEX to try and rename the episodes appropriately. It appears, even though I delete the folder out of the scanned folder, refresh PLEX so that the show is then removed, put the episodes back into the scanned folder, do another refresh, PLEX is still using the edited information that I manually set. How do I delete that info attached to those files? I have a feeling if I can clear that, then maybe the fix correct match using TVDBdvdorder agent will pull the correct info.

you need to go to thetvdb.com and actually check what they have there for the dvd order and name them appropriately. in the case of Ren and Stimpy  for season one  they are the same. so you wont see a difference.

Aired Order

DVD order ( plex does not do episodes with decimals 1.1, 1.2 )

I believe there is a simpler fix for this. I have just did a Fix Incorrect Match and selected the "The Movie Database" and that has fixed my Firefly problem

I am using that version and I do not have theme music for any of my tvdbdvdorder sorted shows. Local Media Assets and Plex Theme Music are enabled.

Do you have a modified PlexThemeMusic agent?

I don't seem to be able to have any luck getting this to install.  These are the steps I am taking;

Downloaded the most recently posted file from BigWheel

I copied the parent folder (DVD Order Agent.bundle) so it includes all the content above.  I pasted it in my user's plex folder in Appdata\local\plex\addons\packages

I've restarted Plex numerous times and on the Server -> Agents page, i do not see the DVD Order plugin list.

What am I missing here?  I keep reading through these pages and believe I have followed the instructions correctly.  This is using PMS 0.9.9.15.544 and web interface 2.2.5

Solved: I put the plug-in folder (DVD Order Agent.bundle, this is the folder inside of the extracted folder.  There was also a _MacOSX folder which was inside the extracted folder which was not copied) in appdata\local\plex media server and it worked.  Didn't realize there were two Plex folders inside of appdata.

I followed the directions.  I have the DVD Order Agent bundle in the plugin area per the path provided.  I still do not see this in my TV agents area.

Please help.

UPDATE:  Restarted my computer an fired up the Plex Server.  It is showing now!!!!

no, mine is the same as everyones

If you're still having issues, please see my solution in this post. My test case was Seinfeld and the plugin worked up until like Season 5. This solution worked for me. Perhaps it will for you as well.

Cheers,

Shadraq

all he basically said in that thread is do a fix incorrect match on the show and select the moviedatabase as the agent instead of the tvdb

This may be a little late, but if you haven't already sorted it out then do as follows:

1. Find the offending series (in your case, Ren & Stimpy)

2. "Open" the series in Plex/Web so that it gives you the synopsis etc.

3. Click the ellipsis (three dots) on the left hand side

4. Select "Unmatch"

This has unmatched your files from the series metadata it was matched to BUT Plex still has that metadata in its head (cache) to use if you add the shows back in (to save you from downloading posters etc again), or in case you unmatched something that was showing as a duplicate, so you need to go a little bit further.

5. Click on the Home link

6. Click the cog icon on the left hand side near your library sections list

7. Select "Clean Bundles"

What you just did there was flushed out all the unused metadata bundles that Plex has kept stored away, including all the metadata for Ren & Stimpy. You will find a load of .bundle files in your Trash (OS X) or Recycle Bin (Win). Now that that fluff has been cleared out, you should be able to go back to your unmatched (and clean) series and do a "Fix Incorrect Match" using the DVD order agent and it will download new metadata for you.

Of course, you mentioned that you manually edited some of the metadata which (AFAIK) wouldn't have been cleared when you unmatched and cleaned bundles. Unfortunately, you're going to have to go in episode by episode to the ones you've manually added data to, edit them, and de-select the lock icons in each. If they are yellow, that means they are locked and will not be replaced with fresh metadata, so make sure you set them back to black. Once you've done that, just click refresh on the series and it should pull any missing metadata using the DVD order agent.

It's a lot of work, but so long as TheTVDB has the correct information, you should be smiling. :)

@Strongbad789 - You need to be a PlexPass subscriber for that link to work. The fee is going up permanently so if I were you I'd jump in and buy it quickly to get in on  the current price. Plus, it's great supporting the devs who do amazing work and support.

I've found the TVDB doesn't always have the proper info so that's why I posted an alternate solution (below). Consider supporting the developers with your money. It's the neighborly thing to do.

Ok, so I've tried that (all 3 different posted versions) and it worked for a few seasons, but fell apart around season 5.

In my situation, Seinfeld came in "Volumes" and not "Seasons". I don't know how to check on the TVDB and make changes to the DVD library versus the standard NBC Aired version. (any tip along those lines and I'd be grateful)

Solution: What I did do to fix this for those of us in this situation -

  1. Settings -> Server> Show Advanced (button) -> Agents -> TV Shows -> The Movie Database
  2. Check maked the following:
    1. The Movie Database
    2. Location Media Assets (TV)
    3. Plex Theme Music

Go to your TV Show and "Fix incorrect Match" and use "The Movie Database" . If you media is named properly in  the folders (as was mine) it should pick up the metadata.

I've gone through a few different steps that have been posted, but I can't seem to keep the metadata for the show once I switch to theTVDBdvdorder agent.  Specifically with The Office, I can have either metadata or correct episode order, but not both.  Anyone else running into this issue or have a solution for it?  Could it stem from there being no additional agents for theTVDBdvdorder agent?

I'm not able to get this to work for Home Movies s4: http://thetvdb.com/index.php?tab=season&seriesid=75318&seasonid=8730&lid=7&order=dvd

I've tried removing and adding it from my library but it always is using the aired order.
