Following here as having the same issue as @leelynds. PMS seems to be ignoring any sort order that it is told to use.
This is the exact same issue I’m seeing. The episodes are named/matched correctly it appears, but the order shown appears to be the airdate (this is a nasty problem on Futurama as well).
It also appears that the order is still wrong on other clients as well. I’ve heard reports that Roku shows them by airdate (same as the screenshot), and on my iOS client, the episode is correctly matched, but sorted by airdate apparently.

The new server update fixed the DVD order for me.
I just upgraded to 3148 and Firefly is still out of order. Did you have to do anything? I tried a refresh all for the library as well as an update library. It is still out of order and incorrectly labeled/meta data.

Sounds like you used the normal TheTVDB agent. Go into Firefly and in the bottom left tap the three dots and select fix incorrect match. Make sure you search for Firefly using the TheTVDBdvdorder under search options .
I’m guessing the primary Plex developers are NOT Firefly fans (and or don’t have tons of kids cartoon shows that require this fix) or this issue would have been solved and built-in to the default Plex TV agent years ago!

I don’t see it there, that only appear when you use the DVD Order plugin? I don’t have that install as I hear it is broken in 1.3. But I’ve read on here that the latest release of PMS is suppose to fix the order issue. But not for me.

As I understood it, a prior PMS update broke the DVDOrderAgent. The most recent update unbroke it. You still need TheTVDBdvdorder agent installed and running for this to work.

Everything @DaleDietrich said is correct. So just install TheTVDBdvdorder agent and follow the steps I mentioned earlier.

Ok so I have the plugin in place. I’m trying to use it with the Looney Tunes Golden Collection. How should I save the episodes locally? Do I dump them all into one folder, put them in volumes, or what? I’m not having any luck.

To provide more info, when I go to Fix Match, the plugin is there, but I’m not sure I saved the episodes correctly for it to work.

TheTVDBdvdorder is still broken in Plex Server v1.3.3.3148
I seem to be having the same issue. Running 1.3.3.3148 and using the newest plugin version, I can’t get it to search TheTVDBDvdorder correctly. I’m attempting this on Futurama.
Is there any sort of recommended process we should follow when the TVDBdvdorder agent returns “No matches found.” for a specific series?
In this case, I’m trying to get the first volume of Space Ghost Coast to Coast DVDs matched up properly. The normal TVDB agent finds and matches the info for the show, but, since the DVD order is different than the aired order, it applies the wrong info to many of the episodes. The TVDB website does include the DVD order correctly (http://thetvdb.com/index.php?lid=7&seasonid=16123&seriesid=79171&tab=season&order=dvd), but, for some reason, when searching using the TVDBdvdorder agent, it doesn’t find a match for the series.

Nevermind. I think I was able to get this solved by unmatching the series first, then matching it to the TVDBdvdorder agent, as opposed to using the “Fix incorrect match” method.
