I don’t have this agent installed anymore and I have the DVD Order option, but Firefly shows the correct order but wrong screenshots and nothing I do seems to fix it.
@Saxi - there are mentions of the “Plex Dance” scattered through out the forums. It’s a series of steps to help ensure Plex has the updated data for a show, and isn’t using old cached data.
Here’s one post I found that includes the steps. Try it. Every step. In order.

I’ve tried this, and it just refuses to fix itself. It shows them in the correct order, but the wrong screenshots. If I edit and look at the posters, they look correct, except for the first one which is being used by default and is the ones for the “air” order and not the DVD order.
Then you should likely report this issue in whatever server section for the server you run, if it’s not reported already.
This thread likely isn’t the best place, as it was originally meant for the agent made by someone else, not of Plex.
(It’s possible it’s monitored, but, doubtful)

Odd… I’m on OS X Lion and PMS 9.6.0, and the .plexapp worked fine for me when I double clicked it. It brought up the OS “do you really want to run this?” thing, then it installed and is working in PMS. When I get info on DVDorder.plexapp, it appears to be associated with “Plex Plug-in Installer.app”.Try this. Go to your Applications folder, then right- (or control-) click on Plex Media Server.app and choose “Show Package Contents.”
You’ll now be inside the app bundle. Open the Contents folder, then Resources. Scroll down until you see “Plex Plug-in Installer.app.”
Leave that window alone for now. Now, in another Finder window navigate to DVDorder.plexapp and Get Info on it.
Under “Open with:”, choose “Other…”.
It should bring up a window to select an application. Drag “Plex Plug-in Installer.app” onto the window, and it should jump to its location. Click Add.Now, if all went well, the file should be associated with the installer; double click it, and see if it works.
The Plex Plug-in Installer does not seem to exist for me. I am on WIndows, but no exes named to do with plugins.
Just a heads up for anyone who finds this thread. It looks like Plex now has this feature natively.
- Edit show by clicking the pencil.
- Go to “Advanced”
- Change “Episode ordering” to “DVD order”
@laynezilla - Thanks.
Unfortunately, you’re a bit late to the party.
One page ago, about 15-20 posts (i didn’t count), there was an entire discussion around that fact.

No mention of this in the release notes for v1.4.1.3362-77c6a4f80, but it’s clear from the code changes that Plex have now implemented this functionality for themselves.
The last time anyone posted in this thread was April 2017. It was quietly dying in the corner (as it should) until you revived it.

Would an admin please close this thread, as it’s now included in Plex by default.
Thanks.

I know this post is pretty old but the link is no longer active. Is the original link the best one to go with? Unfortunately, after following the instructions I am not able to see futurama as an option when selecting DVDorder
