I have box sets of old DVD’s (Laurel & Hardy, Sherlock Holmes, Tom & Jerry, etc.) - with each of the DVD’s containing anywhere from 2 to 12 short films. Want to RIP them with MakeMKV to add to PLEX. Looking for suggestions on how to name these. Some titles can be found in TheMovieDB and some in IMDB, but not all of them.

In terms of how to organize them in your movie library, I’d recommend a collection. I have the series of Disney/Pixar short films… each one is 6 minutes or so, but there are more than 30 of them. They were unwieldy until I made a collection named “Disney Pixar Short Films” and placed them inside. (This only works if you choose to enable collections in the library, and choose the option to hide films that are in a collection)
In terms of movies not being found in IMDB or Movie DB, that’s a tougher one. The best thing you can do is to match all the ones you can, and for the others, manually enter the information you consider important, such as Title, summary, release date, etc. The bad news is that if you ever need to rescan the library on a new server, you’ll need to do that again manually. For unmatched stuff, that’s unavoidable.
For Laurel & Hardy, is it possible you could place it in a TV library and use TheTVDB instead?

And those that are not in TheTVDB, if you make them regular movies, you can place them in collections where both the TV and Movies are named the same then they show up together.
