I’m trying to archive my DVDs on Plex. For this I installed a Plex Server 1.23.xx on a QNap V5.0 and then updated it manually to 1.27.1. On the Plexserver interface I added my DVD under the film collection. Now the following problem, I have a DVD “Roy Orbison and Friends A Black and White Night” in the collection that is displayed under films as “Roy Orbison and Friends: A Black and White Night” - in German.
What do I have to set so that the title appears in the original.
And then I noticed that under - Settings - Plex Web - General - there is no language “German”. Can/must I install them afterwards?
Librarys have their own language setting as one could have a library of German movies and another library of English movies.
If everything in the library is in German edit the library and change the language
if only that one movie is in German, it is possible just that movie’s metadata is set to German. Edit the movie and under the Advanced tab change the metadata language (might also have to change original title setting) and then refresh metadata
If the file in an Mp4 then it is possible that it has a German title embedded in metadata. In which case would suggest editing the library and. disable “prefer embedded metadata”
