DVR: cannot plan recording from Android app

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171
Player Version#: 7.27.0.14746

When trying to set up a recording in the Android app, when pressing the red record button, nothing happens. The same works fine when using the web interface.
I already logged out of the app without success.
Any ideas? Do I need to provide logs? If yes, player or server?

I’ve don’t recall seeing this issue with v7.27.0.14746. I can’t retest though as I’m presently on beta version 7.27.0.14824-beta and recording is working.

Have you tried any of these - force stopping the app, clearing cache, clearing storage - to see if the issue disappears?

Updated to 14824, issue persists.
Clearing cache didn’t help either. Will try to delete all data.

Edit: deleted data, same result.

OK. Well, we’re both on the same player and PMS versions, but recording works for me and not for you. I wonder if it’s a backend issue? It could be a tuner or EPG provider issue. That’s where we’ll differ.

Dunno, as I said it works via the web interface, same settings concerning the recording itself.

I’m using the app on Android OS version 11 on a Pixel 3XL. What version of the Andriod OS are you running the app on?

Damn! Well, the only real difference appears to be the backend. I’m stumped. I’ll graciously bow out to a higher authority now.

Edit: For what it’s worth, my backend is Windows 10 Home with a Hauppauge WinTV-quad HD tuner and IceTV (Australia) EPG subscription.

Latest patches on your Windows OS?

No Windows involved. The server is in a Docker running on Unraid.

Android TV does work for me.

So probably more a backend issue than I thought. When recordings are finished (because they actually work), I will restart the docker container.

Edit: container restarted, issue persists.

I can supply logs from the Android client, just don’t want to post them publicly.
@ChuckPa can you ping some one from the Android client team or anybody else you might help here?

Did a bit of inquiring:

At the moment, they can schedule a recording by navigating to the preplay item of the episode./show/movie

Android doesn’t yet support starting a recording while playing the item back, but that is coming soon

And here, that red squared button (“Aufnehmen movie”) just doesn’t do anything.

As previously said, this works fine when using the web interface with the same settings.

Sure, sounds reasonable. As already pointed out, I was too unspecific myself, so I tried to clear things up.
