Live TV and DVR – Now out of Beta!
With all the hard work we’ve put into what we believe is clearly the best DVR on the planet, we’re ready to take the training wheels off and call this officially out of beta. There’s lots more great stuff in the pipeline too, don’t worry!

How about functionality? Fails on two IOS devices as well as two Android devices. The third party HDHR channel however is flawless. I would think the core server would be able to run it better then a plugin.
It doesn’t feel like it’s out of beta - I like what’s been done, but far too hit and miss at the moment
it clearly has too many issues to be reliable enough to be considered “out of Beta” maybe not even “out of Alpha” Android TV (Shield) crashes if you change channels too quickly, Android Mobile none of my devices do anything but spin and wait for tv to start and the latest release broke the workaround to use Android media player. still cant reliably count on the DVR to record your shows but having said that I still believe it WILL BE what they have said in that blog it just isnt yet. I am afraid the non techys who cant even understand why you need a tuner for this or if you get cable channels with your antenna are going to jump on board and this is going to be an epic fail bc it just is way too buggy across all platforms. Just my 2 cent worth. I reiterate I am all in and overall like the product just seriously needs some polishing and reliability improvements before being NON-beta.
My experience (PMS 1.8 Windows and Android 6.3) is the android application either hangs using ExoPlayer2, (spinning orange circle) or quits unexpectedly when choosing either Android player or external player. Also breaks HDHR channel. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling android app, no change. Going back to 6.2.1.1036 android on a device restores HDHR channel to working order, but of course I lose Plex as a TV.

I am still on PMS 1.7.5 (I think… not at home right now), but have the new android app and live tv works great… no spinning wheels(no time-shift though…not being on PMS 1.8) and HDHRhomerun viewer works as well. I would roll back the server and keep the newest droid client.

Yea I’m in agreement I don’t think its quite ready to be out of beta yet. I still have issues with failed recordings and buffering/freezing. Then again, I guess we will see when the AndroidTV app updates maybe it’ll solve some of those issues.
Can you View LiveTV on Android phones and tablets if it can where do you get the latest updates as none of my Android devices shows livetv ? Shield is working OK.
New Android client out there - 6.3.0.1280. Fixes HDHR channel, negative on Plex live TV. Same issues where either hangs with orange circle, or using Android or external player quits abnormally. They are getting close!!! (Fingers crossed)

Yes I can view on my droid phone… I am right now as I type.

I just unistalled and re-installed from play store still no LiveTV option.
Live TV working now on my Apple TV. There is a new icon added named “Live TV”. This appeared after my pre-existing icons. Doesn’t look like DVR recording or scheduling made it into this release. Live TV working well for me, though! Great job Plex!

Are you signing into the app as the admin?
What PMS version are you running?
Have been waiting forever for Android Mobile to get Live TV… Its finally released… and the Google Play store only shows 6.2

Version 1.7.4.4017 I just got all the updates from the play store and this is the latest version… Maybe because I am running on my Shield ? … I will try my mini PC.

Needs to be 1.75 or greater - 1.8 for sure.
