I have a Hauppauge WintTV-HVR 2250. I’ve been using it for many years on Windows 7 with Windows Media Center. It has worked just fine. It scanned channels and found a guide and worked exactly like it should.
I’m trying to switch to Plex. None of the things that should happen are happening. It scans for channels and finds 50+. When I select the guide that should be appropriate for my region and provider nothing gets mapped. Since you can’t access a channel without mapping it (seems silly) I just manually checked every box and assigned the scanned channels (117.17 etc.) to real channels (3 for CBS etc.). I was then going to go to each channel and figure out what it should actually be mapped to and fix it all myself.
Turns out I can’t do that either because every channel that Plex has found either returns an error (can’t tune) or is just some channel playing music to a slide show. It does not seem to have found any actual TV channels.
If I use the exact same tuner in the same computer using media center it all still works just fine.
