DVR Disk Utilization

Have an issue that has been puzzling me for a while… I have my Plex library set across multiple disks, primarily my Movies and TV are on E: while my OS is on C:. What puzzles me is that when Plex records TV or a DVR, it pegs the C: drive at 100% I/O usage while the E: drive is only about 15% where the .grab folder sits. CPU and Memory are also about 50% (not a pagesys file issue) so I can’t figure out why Plex is raping my C: Drive. Any ideas?

So the way the recording works is it saves to a temp place and copies when it is done.

Check under your settings for this transcode folder.
I use a cache drive dedicated for this so it never touches my system storage.
I don’t select to transcode anything myself but I believe this is where it stores temp data until completed.

You can try and change this to E:\TMP or some other folder you create and it should leave your C drive alone.

I might be wrong but that is how I think it works.

Cool thanks, will give that a shot!
