I’m seeing a lot of threads started concerning USB and PCI tuner devices such as the below supported devices:
WinTV-dualHD
WinTV-HVR-955Q
WinTV-quadHD
Digital TV for Xbox One
AVerMedia AVerTV Volar Hybrid Q
Has anyone been able to get PMS to identify one of these? The main issue is that PMS scans for devices on your network, but nothing local to the machine. Any help would be appreciated. Personally I’m on linux, but I would assume the answer should be pretty universal as long as the tuner is supported and the OS is able to see it.
I’m not home but I have one of the USB tuners. If I get some time I’ll try it out tonight.
Plex tuner service starts up when I attempt to add my wintv-quadHD ATSC in windows 10 but it finds nothing. I’ve disabled the hauppauge tv server service and the dvblink server service, restarted PMS, still no luck detecting. But, wintv and dvblink certainly work if I enable them.
I broke out the ATI TV Wonder 650 but again, not on the supported list and it’s local. Anyway to get Plex to take a look at it?
Just thought of this. Since the Live TV support and Expanded Tuner support was just announced today ( https://www.plex.tv/blog/well-do-it-live/ ), maybe the most recent PMS download (dated 5/26/17) doesn’t have this support and a new build is coming out later today?
I have the Hauppauge Xbox One Tuner (USB) working in PMS for Windows 10.
Plugged in, Set Up DVR and it was recognized almost instantly.
Playback seems to be spotty (Can’t seem to get some channels to work) but it make just be the new software.

Well, that goes against my last comment / thought

that page says PMS 1.7.2 or newer is needed for USB/PCI tuners.
Correct, as long as you’re on that build, and the drivers are installed, Plex should see the USB tuner if it’s on the supported list. If not, please give us the Plex Media Server.log and the Plex Tuner Service.log files and we’ll take a look!
I’ve been waiting ages for USB tuner support as I’ve had a spare Avermedia A825 sitting around. Drivers install fine on Win 10 but as expected it’s not recognised by Plex Media Server. Guess I have to wait till when (or if) it’s supported.
A825 is not on the support list currently, but we’re actively working on supporting other tuners.
So I’m running PMS on Ubuntu 16.04 and after plugging in my USB Digital TV for Xbox One tuner, Plex automatically detected it and allowed me to add it to my list of tuners. Worked great!
Just logged in to say I had the same issue with my Hauppauge Xbox One Tuner (USB). Turned out I wasn’t on the plex pass update channel. Mine is working great now.
