I recorded an NFL game over the weekend from my local NBC affiliate and sat down to watch it last night. I used the fast-forward button occasionally to skip the boring parts. The commercials skipped automatically and worked pretty well.
In the third quarter I went to skip forward 30 seconds but accidentally hit the “exit playback and return to menu” button (or whatever that is called). The button on my Shield remote with the triangle pointing to the left.
Realizing my mistake, I selected the recording again and expected it to resume where I left off. BUT IT DIDN’T. It started over from the very beginning. I had to fast-forward to get back to where I was, which was really annoying. Later on I did the same mistake, and again it started the recording from the beginning.
Why is the software not remembering where playback left off??
Also, if I try to “skip back” more than a few times, Plex crashes. (This has been happening for months.)
Plex: Please fix this frustrating bug.
My system:
Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 (purch. early 2024), HDHomeRun Flex 4K, Samsung S7 SSD ext. drive, Plex media server (v1.43.0.10231) & Plex client (2025.30.0 on phone, 10.30.6.4151 on Shield) installed and used on Shield, Plex Pass lifetime, ClearStream 2V external antenna. HDMI-over-ethernet cable from Shield to TV (50 feet).
